The elongated skull is currently stored at the SKELETONS Museum of Osteology in Oklahoma, USA.
The museum hailed the find as one of its “most interesting” exhibits. It is believed that the skull belonged to a Peruvian warrior.

Surgeons performed a miraculous operation to implant a piece of metal when he returned from combat with severe injuries.
The plate was used to bind broken bones, while the exact composition of the alloy is unknown.

Scientists do not know if anesthesia was used during the operation, but they specify that at that time there were many natural remedies for surgical procedures, and the warrior survived the procedure.
