(ANSA) – MILAN, 07 FEB – The metaverse is growing day by day, the virtual reality platform on which companies and individuals are concentrating with important “real estate” investments for the replication of homes and shops. The new trend is to take advantage of the digital world also to play in real casinos, using consolidated cryptocurrencies.

In the last three months, Ice Poker, the casino developed by Decentral Games and hosted on the Decentraland metaverse, has recorded revenues of $ 7.5 billion, the result of a daily amount of users approaching 6,000.

Access to the poker rooms is free but each person, to take part in the tables, must purchase an NFT pass, a sort of authenticated digital invitation, with which to participate in tournaments and, if necessary, convert the winnings into real money.

According to the Coindesk website, which reported the news, only one NFT can reach $ 6,500, a figure that is definitely not within everyone’s reach. “At any given time, we have at least 1,000 users playing poker,” Decentral Games founder Miles Anthony told CoinDesk. “That doesn’t seem like a huge number but when it comes to the metaverse it’s a good figure, considering the main problem right now is that the platforms are essentially empty.” The sums acquired on Ice Poker can be converted into Ethereum, the currency on which Decentraland is based, one of the four metaverse projects available, with Sandbox, Cryptovoxels and Somnium. At the end of December 2021, the registered users on Decentraland were more than 800,000. Ice Poker will soon arrive as a videogame for smartphones, with the desire to unite the metaverse audience with that, more numerous, of mobile enthusiasts. (HANDLE).
