Scientists have solved the main riddle of the planet

Scientists have discovered a never-before-seen mechanism that fuels the huge planetary auroras on Saturn

Saturn is unique in that some of its auroras are generated by swirling winds in its own atmosphere, not just from the planet’s surrounding magnetosphere.

: Mysterious giant: discovered gas moon almost three times the size of the Earth

On all other observed planets, including on Earth, auroras are formed only by powerful currents entering the atmosphere from the surrounding magnetosphere, writes Phys.

They are caused either by interaction with the particles of the Sun, as on Earth, or volcanic material erupted from the moon revolving around the planet – as on Jupiter.

This discovery answers one of the first mysteries: why can’t we Is it easy to measure the length of a day on Saturn?

In 2004, scientists discovered that the rotation speed of the planet allegedly changed two decades since the last spacecraft flew past it in 1981.

At the same time, physicists argue that this indicator cannot change so quickly, therefore, on Saturn something unique must have happened and strange.

Now scientists have measured the radiation of the upper atmosphere and proved that a significant part of the planet’s auroras created by her own weatherand the speed is still stable.
