Yemen: MSF, ‘the health situation is collapsing’

(ANSA) – ROME, FEB 14 – “Yemen is experiencing one of the worst health crises” with “the population that is in dramatic conditions, has no autonomy to survive and needs humanitarian aid to live”. Getting treatment in Yemen has now become a luxury”.

There are over 4 million internally displaced people, with more than 20 million people in urgent need of humanitarian assistance”, he said. MSF, which has the largest intervention in a conflict zone in this country.

“Seven years of indiscriminate attacks that have not seen an end, with the parties in conflict that have not spared even the population and civilian structures. The “most vulnerable subjects are women and children: in recent weeks, MSF teams have recorded a 66% increase in medical visits to children in the Governorate of Marib and a return of forgotten diseases such as cholera, measles or diarrheal diseases, as well as psychological problems “, concludes Doctors Without Borders.
