(ANSA) – ROME, FEBRUARY 14 – The American billionaire Jared Isaacman, who had been the commander of the first mission of tourists to space in September, has announced that he will lead three more in collaboration with Elon Musk’s Space X.
The next space travel, in the plans of the 38-year-old entrepreneur, includes a walk in space and the first flight of a crew on the latest generation Starship rocket.
The first mission, called Polaris Dawn, will take place towards the end of the year and will be commanded by Isaacman himself who led Inspiration4 last year. The crew will depart from Kennedy Space Center in Florida, aboard a Falcon 9 and will spend five days in the highest orbit ever reached by this type of rocket. With the billionaire there will be former US Air Force colonel Scott Poteet as a pilot and two SpaceX experts, Sarah Gillis and Dr. Anna Menon. The crew will also attempt a spacewalk at an altitude of 482 kilometers.
