France: Macron continues to fly in the Eliseo 2022 polls

(ANSA) – PARIS, FEBRUARY 14 – The French president, Emmanuel Macron, continues to fly in the polls in view of a second term at the Elysée in the presidential elections in April. According to a study carried out by the Ifop-Fiducial institute for Paris Match, LCI and Sud Radio, the current president – who has not yet officially nominated himself for a second presidential term – collects 25% of the voting intentions in the first round of 10 April , ahead of Rassemblement National candidate Marine Pen (17%). In third place, elbow to elbow, the candidate of the Républicains, Valérie Pécresse and the candidate of the far-right movement ‘Reconquete’, Eric Zemmour, both at 15%.

According to the same poll, Macron is still given a winner, in any configuration, even in the ballot on April 24. The study reveals great stability in voting intentions. On the left, the only one to pass the 10% threshold is the candidate of France Insoumise, Jean-Luc Mélenchon (11%) before the ecologist Yannick Jadot (4.5%), Christiane Taubira (3%), the communist Fabien Roussel (3%,) and the current socialist mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo (2.5%).
