Sahel, France and allies announce withdrawal from Mali

The closing of the last French bases in Mali will take between “4 and 6 months”: said the French President Emmanuel Macron, at a press conference in Paris, after the announced withdrawal of the French, European and Canadian soldiers from the African country . “We will gradually close the bases in Mali, an exercise that will take between 4 and 6 months,” Macron said, stating that “in this period of time (…) we will continue to ensure the safety missions della Minusma “, the UN mission in Mali, which has over 13,000 blue helmets.
