(ANSA) – LONDON, FEBRUARY 19 – The dead due to the Eunice storm that hit western Europe yesterday with winds of up to 190km per hour have risen to 13, which also caused serious inconvenience to the railway network.

The deaths have been reported in Great Britain, Ireland, Holland, Belgium, Germany and Poland, according to emergency services, which have been working since yesterday to restore electricity to Great Britain where 400,000 people have remained in the dark. Authorities urged people not to travel to avoid transport chaos after the railway network was closed due to the very strong winds from Eunice. The railway network in the Netherlands also remained paralyzed, with international Eurostar and Thalys services departing from Great Britain and France following damage to power lines.

Eunice has also caused inconvenience to the railway network in France where 75 thousand people are still without electricity.
