“Princess Charlene is much better off and I hope she will be back in the Principality soon.” This is the laconic message that Prince Albert of Monaco wanted to give to Monegasque subjects – through the Monaco-Matin newspaper – about his wife’s health conditions.
Back in the family for a few days last November, after eight months of absence, Princess Charlene had to leave Monte Carlo to recover from a specialized center after returning from South Africa, where she underwent several surgeries last summer.
Since then, the press releases of the Palace have only recalled the invitation of the princely couple to continue to “respect their privacy as well as that of their children”.
Before the message in Monaco-Matin, the last health bulletin issued by Prince Albert II dates back to Christmas Eve. A statement that evoked an “encouraging” recovery of Princess Charlene, which she should take “a few more months”.
