(ANSA) – NEW YORK, 01 MAR – Andrew Cuomo attempts a political return by playing the victim’s card. The former governor of the state of New York, forced to resign in August 2021 following allegations of sexual harassment by at least eleven women, has launched a TV commercial in which he describes himself as the victim of a political attack.
In the 30-second video, even though the name is never explicitly mentioned, it also targets New York State Attorney General, Letitia James, who in her investigation concluded that Cuomo had molested at least 11 women including members. of his staff.
The commercial is made up of a collage of television segments that highlight the decision of five district attorneys not to proceed against him. “The political attacks have won – says a narrator – and New Yorkers have lost a proven leader”.
A spokesperson for James replied that, ‘the only thing Cuomo has shown about himself is that he is a serial harasser and a threat to women in the workplace and no commercial can change that fact.’
