(ANSA) – NEW YORK, 04 MAR – The sale of the most expensive villa in America becomes a flop. The mansion in Bel Air in Los Angeles, dubbed ‘The One’, 21 rooms, 49 bathrooms, five swimming pools and a garage that can hold 30 cars, was auctioned for just $ 126 million, 144 million when you consider even 12% commissions.
The price initially asked in 2015 when the property, which in the meantime went bankrupt, was put up for sale was 500 million dollars. Then it dropped to 295 million.
According to what Bloomberg writes, the fate of ‘The One’ is that of other luxury properties that ended up in bankruptcy, all of which were auctioned at a considerably lower price than what was requested. Last year, for example, Villa Firenze in Beverly Hills was sold for 51 million against a request for 160. (ANSA).
