(ANSA) – NEW YORK, MARCH 05 – The United States began arming Ukraine as early as the beginning of December, supplying weapons and equipment useful for combat in urban areas. The Washington Post reports it citing some confidential documents containing the list of deliveries made. In the past week, deliveries have increased, including Stinger missiles for the first time.
Meanwhile, the New York Times writes that the United States has delivered about 70% of the weapons envisaged in the $ 350 million package approved by Joe Biden to help Ukraine.
The weapons arrived in Poland and Romania and then sent, by land, to western Ukraine to be distributed throughout the territory. US Armed Forces Joint Chief of Staff Mark Milley inspected the arms transfer operation during a surprise visit during which he met with troops and personnel from 22 countries working to unload weapons for transfer them overland to the Ukrainian forces.
