(ANSA) – BRUSSELS, MARCH 09 – “I am pleased to have built a gas pipeline to Norway in the last five years. In six months we will be independent from Russian gas for the first time in decades”. Thus the Polish Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, on the sidelines of the meeting in Vienna with the Austrian Chancellor, Karl Nehammer.
Morawiecki then went back to calling for “real, overwhelming and targeted” sanctions that “take oxygen away from this war: money from the oligarchs, oil, gas and other commodities”.
“Russia – he added – has not attacked Ukraine with half measures, but with its army” by committing “war crimes”.
