(ANSA) – NEW YORK, MARCH 12 – The Chernobyl nuclear power plant works thanks to external diesel generators. This was stated by the International Atomic Energy Agency (Aiea), pointing out that the 211 staff members are unable to rotate and have in fact been living inside the facility since Russia took control.

“The direct general Rafael Mariano Grossi reiterates the grave concern over the safety of nuclear power plants in Ukraine”, highlights the IAEA.

Ukraine has communicated to the International Atomic Energy Agency (Aiea) that Russia intends to take full and permanent control of the Zaporizhzhya plant, under the leadership of Rosatom.
