Ukraine, Zelensky: commitment to continue dealing with Russia

(ANSA) – NEW YORK, MARCH 13 – President Volodymyr Zelensky undertakes to continue negotiations with Russia and, in a new video, states that the Ukraine delegation for negotiations has the “clear task” of doing what it can to secure a meeting with Vladimir Putin. Zelensky has been asking for a meeting with his Russian counterpart for some time, but so far his request has not been heard by the Kremlin.

Zelensky asked his American counterpart Joe Biden to increase pressure on Russia and impose further sanctions on Moscow by targeting not only the elites of the Kremlin and the Duma, but also components of regional governments. The Washington Post reports, citing some sources familiar with the contents of last Friday’s telephone conversation between Biden and Zelensky.

The Ukrainian president also returns to warn NATO: without a fly-zone it is “only a matter of time” before a Russian missile falls on the territory of the Atlantic Alliance.
