“I couldn’t stay behind the scenes. I just wanted to show Western viewers that Russians are against war. Not all Russians are like that.” The Russian television journalist Marina Ovsyannikova told the BBC that on Tuesday she interrupted a live news program on state television by showing a placard against the war in Ukraine.
Ovsyannikova was sentenced to pay a fine of 30 thousand rubles.
“To the Russians, I wanted to show that they are ‘zombified’ by the Kremlin propaganda, stop believing them. Stop listening to the Kremlin channels,” he added. “Learn to inform yourself, analyze. Western sources, Ukrainian sources, I understand that it is very difficult when there is war information to find alternative sources, but you have to try to look for them,” he added.
