(ANSA) – NEW YORK, MARCH 17 – Stop the swab for travelers entering Canada. The federal government announced it. The new directive applies to those who are vaccinated and will come into effect on April 1st. Until now, a quick or molecular negative swab was required prior to arrival. The federal government has also made it known that it will carry out random swabs at arrivals.
The tourism industry has been lobbying for some time to ease restrictions, especially the tampon requirement.
