Ukraine: Zelensky at the Knesset also on screen in the square

(ANSA) – TEL AVIV, MARCH 18 – Volodymyr Zelensky’s speech at the Knesset next Sunday at 6 pm (local time) will also be broadcast on a mega screen in Tel Aviv. This was announced by Mayor Ron Huldai in response to a request made by the Ukrainian ambassador Yevgen Korniychuk and the ‘Friends of Ukraine’ association in Israel. Meanwhile, preparations continue in the Knesset for the speech that President Zelensky will deliver to remotely connected Israeli deputies and ministers.

According to the media, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett should also take part in the event. The preparations are complicated by the fact that the Knesset in Jerusalem is currently closed for works in the building and for this reason the technicians – added the same sources – are preparing a secure line. Zelensky’s announced intervention has created tensions with Russia.

The Russian ambassador to Israel Anatoly Victorov saw, in a meeting defined by the media as ‘tense’, the president of the Knesset Micky Levy to whom he said that his country expects from Israel “a more balanced behavior”. Victorov also suggested to Levy that Israeli MPs receive an update from Russian MPs in parallel. (HANDLE).
