Iraq, on March 26 the president is elected

Next Saturday, March 26 in Baghdad, the expected session of the parliament is expected for the election of the president of the Republic, who according to the internal political convention must belong to the Kurdish community.
Baghdad media reports, according to which the parties represented in the national assembly are still divided on the name of the future head of state.
The parliamentary majority, made up of deputies of the Shiite leader Moqata Sadr, those of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (PDK) of the Barzani clan and those of the party of the president of parliament Muhammad Halbusi, supports Reber Ahmed Barzani, a second-rate exponent of the Barzani family .
This front is opposed by a minority of deputies, supported however by Iran, who support the candidacy of the outgoing president, Barham Saleh, part of the party of the Democratic Union of Kurdistan (Udk), led by the Kurdish clan of the Talabani, rivals of the Barzani.
Since 2005, the position of head of state has in fact been in the hands of members of the Udk even if in the previous elections of 2018 the PDK tried to undermine this primacy.
Faced with the negotiation stalemate in view of the session of 26 March, intense negotiations between the parties continue to avoid a clash in the classroom which, according to local analysts, could have negative repercussions on the political stability of the entire country.
