Ukraine, Le Drian, at risk of world food security

(ANSA) – BRUSSELS, MARCH 21 – “We must seriously face the challenge of world food security. We know the extent of cereal production in Ukraine and Russia and we see the consequences of the war: the impossibility of sowing, harvesting, exporting . It is not sanctions that lead to serious malfunctions in world food security, it is war. It is the war that could unleash the risk of famine tomorrow “. This was stated by the French Foreign Minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian, arriving at the Foreign Council.

“We Europeans must deal with this new situation quickly, also with our partners, international agencies and NGOs to avoid that in addition to the war there is a very serious world food crisis”, he added referring to the European Humanitarian Forum to be held in Brussels. (HANDLE).
