The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow banned Instagram and Facebook in Russia.

Thus, the court satisfied the claim of the prosecutor’s office to recognize the American company Meta as “extremist”, Mediazona reports.

Among the claims against Meta were the publication in 2016 of a photo of Adolf Hitler on Instagram, ignoring the requirements to remove calls for “mass riots” on the eve of the elections, and on March 11, the company temporarily lifted the ban on incitement to violence against Russian citizens.

According to the court decision, the claim against Meta is satisfied. The decision to block Facebook and Instagram takes effect immediately, this measure does not apply to the WhatsApp messenger.

In Russia, they created their own analogue of Instagram

In Russia, they decided to “import replace” Instagram. A fellow student of Pavel Durov, the founder of Vkontakte and Telegram, Alexander Zobov, took up the case. His creation completely repeats the design of Instagram. Zobov came up with the patriotic name “Rossgram” for his fake. By the way, earlier Durov trolled the closure of Instagram.

On the main page of the service, it is indicated that it will fully work on March 28 and will be available on Android and iOS. First users are offered “special privileges”.
