(ANSA) – NEW DELHI, MARCH 22 – The Indian capital is experiencing a moment of exceptional heat, with temperatures seven, eight degrees higher than the seasonal average, normally much milder in early spring.
The thermometer in Delhi yesterday reached the peak of 38.3 degrees, with the minimum at 20; IMD, the Indian Meteorological Institute predicts that the values could rise again over the weekend.
“The temperature has risen to these anomalous levels for the past two weeks” reports RK Janamani, scientist of the institute.
“The oncoming winds are also warm, and no signal suggests a return to the typical levels of the end of March”. (HANDLE).
