Iran, ‘nuclear deal is closer than ever’

(ANSA) – ISTANBUL, 24 MAR – “We are closer to reaching an agreement than at any other time”. This was stated by Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, as reported by the Irna agency, during a joint press conference in Damascus with the Syrian counterpart Faisal Mekdad, speaking of the talks to relaunch the nuclear agreement underway, from 29 November, to Vienna, in which Russia, China, France, Great Britain and Germany as well as the Islamic Republic participate.

The Iranian minister has made it known that Tehran has sent proposals to the US through EU mediation and if Washington adopts a “realistic” attitude it will be possible to find an agreement in the short term.

During his official visit to Syria, Amirabdollahian also met with President Bashar al Assad. (HANDLE).
