NATO will decide today to deploy another four battlegroups on the Eastern front, in particular in Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary, to face the Russian threat. Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said so.
“We ask China to condemn the invasion” of Ukraine by Russia and “not to give political and military support” to Moscow, Stoltenberg added, specifying that “we are facing the most serious crisis for an entire generation”.
The NATO secretary general then stressed that the US and Europe are united in facing it. And highlighting the need to restructure and strengthen the Alliance’s deterrence structure in light of the latest events. The Norwegian politician then said that “Putin made a big mistake” in attacking an independent sovereign state. And he “underestimated” the resistance of the Ukrainians and their armed forces.
