The Russian military department claims that “the armed forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan … entered the zone of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping contingent on the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh and set up an observation post.”

“Azerbaijan inflicted four strikes by the Bayraktar-TB2 UAV on the armed formations of Nagorno-Karabakh, which is not recognized by anyone in the world, near the settlement of Furukh,” – the message says.

Russia claims that it “is taking measures to resolve the situation” and that “an appeal has been sent to Azerbaijan to withdraw troops.” In turn, Azerbaijan accused Russia of violating the Declaration on Allied Interaction. In addition, Baku called the statement of the Russian Defense Ministry about the entry of Azerbaijani troops into the zone of responsibility of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh as contradicting the essence of bilateral relations.

The essence of the conflict

On July 12, fighting began on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Baku accused the Armenian side of violating the ceasefire, and Yerevan accused the Azerbaijani side of crossing the border.

A new large-scale aggravation began on the night of September 27. The authorities of Armenia and the so-called Nagorno-Karabakh Republic declared martial law and general mobilization, while Azerbaijan announced an offensive along the entire front line in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Later, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a document with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to end the war in Nagorno-Karabakh from November 10.

On March 24, hostilities resumed in the self-proclaimed Nagorno-Karabakh. Azerbaijani troops went on the offensive and liberated the villages of Farukh (Parukh) and Khramort.
