(ANSA) – KABUL, MARCH 28 – The Taliban have ordered Afghan airlines to prevent women from boarding unless they are accompanied by a male relative: sector officials announced yesterday evening.
The decision was made after a meeting held last Thursday between representatives of the Taliban, the airlines Ariana Afghan and Kam Air and the airport immigration authorities.
The initiative follows the closure, on Wednesday, of all secondary schools for girls, decided a few hours after they were allowed to reopen for the first time since the rise of the Taliban to power last August. (HANDLE).
