(ANSA) – TUNIS, MARCH 30 – Tunisian President Kais Saied announced in the evening, during a meeting of the Security Council, the dissolution of Parliament. He announced the Facebook page of the Carthage presidency by publishing a video in which Saied called the virtual meeting of the (suspended) deputies an attempted coup. A few hours earlier, in fact, 120 deputies of Parliament, suspended by Saied on 25 July 2021, had met by videoconference voting “the cancellation of the exceptional measures” decided by the Tunisian president on 25 July 2021. Parliament was technically frozen pursuant to art . 80 of the Constitution. (HANDLE).
