Tunisia: France ‘worried’ about the latest developments

(ANSAmed) – TUNIS, APRIL 6 – “France expresses concern about the latest developments in Tunisia and recalls its attachment to respect for the rule of law and the independence of justice. It wishes the return, as soon as possible, to the normal functioning of institutions, in order to respond to the economic and social emergency “.

These are the words of the French Foreign Minister Jean Yves Le Drian on the occasion of a press point reported by the website of the French embassy in Tunisia, regarding the decision of the Tunisian president on 30 March to dissolve the Parliament. “In full respect of Tunisian sovereignty, France also invites all political forces in the country to engage in inclusive dialogue, avoid all forms of violence and preserve the country’s democratic achievements”.
