(ANSA) – STRASBOURG, 07 APR – The European Parliament gives the green light to the majority resolution calling for more sanctions against Russia, including energy imports. The resolution was approved with 513, 19 abstentions and 22 against. During the vote, an amendment was approved by Ppe, S&D, Renew, Greens and Ecr calling for “a total and immediate embargo on Russian gas, oil and coal” and “the abandonment of the use of the Nordstream 1 and 2 gas pipelines. “. The vote was greeted by the applause of the assembly. “Colleagues, this is a significant moment, our position is clear”, underlined the president of the EP Roberta Metsola. (HANDLE).
