Ukraine: 600 billion economic losses, 80 billion damage to infrastructures

(ANSA) – ROME, APRIL 11 – War-related damage to Ukrainian infrastructure has exceeded 80 billion dollars.

This is the estimate of the KSE Institute, according to Ukrainska Pravda reports, underlining that in the last week alone, damage to infrastructures have increased by 12.2 billion dollars.

The total losses of the Ukrainian economy due to the war range from 564 billion to 600 billion dollars. An assessment that includes, in addition to infrastructural losses, also indirect losses such as, for example, the fall in GDP, the stop to investments, the loss of manpower, additional spending on defense and social support.

During the 47 days of conflict at least 23,000 kilometers of roads and 37,000 square meters of housing were damaged, destroyed or seized. At least 277 bridges and flyovers, 10 military airports, 8 airports and 2 ports were hit, reports the Ukrainian media. (HANDLE).
