(ANSA) – ROME, APRIL 11 – To date, the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture and Information Policies has documented 166 destroyed or damaged cultural sites. This was stated by the Minister of Culture Oleksandr Tkachenko, according to reports from Ukrinform.
“We currently keep official records on the ministry’s website. These are 166 cultural heritage sites that were destroyed or damaged during the Russian invasion.
We still don’t know about some sites that are in the fully occupied territories, “said Tkachenko, explaining that Kiev is negotiating with Western partners to set up a joint fund for the restoration of our cultural heritage.
“This is an extremely important issue, because the first thing Putin is fighting against, if we are not talking about people, is against culture, against our history,” he added. (HANDLE).
