In the United States in Tennessee, an armed man opened fire on people in a supermarket and then committed suicide. As a result, one person died and another 12 were injured, five of them in critical condition.

People hid in freezers and offices

The incident took place on the evening of September 23 (local time) at a Kroger grocery store in Collierville. The massacre has already been called the most terrible event in the history of the city.

“We found people hiding in freezers and locked themselves in offices,” – said the chief of the city police Dale Lane.

The shooter’s motives and information about him are still unknown. However, the WREG-TV channel, citing its sources called the shooter a store employee who was fired on the same day.

As a result of the shootout a store employee died. Yet 12 people were injured – five of them in critical condition are in the hospital. Eyewitnesses say the attacker fired from a “military-grade rifle.”

It is assumed that he acted alone. Later, the body of the shooter with a gunshot wound was found in the parking lot near the store. The cops assume it was suicide.
