Surprise visit of Harry and Meghan to Queen Elizabeth

Harry and Meghan paid a visit to Queen Elizabeth before reaching The Hague where the Invictus Games, the sporting event founded by Harry for disabled military veterans, will kick off on April 16. This was announced by a spokesman for the couple. British media reported that the meeting took place in Windsor Castle. The surprise visit is to be interpreted as an “olive branch” offered by the Dukes of Sussex two years after their separation from the royal family with the transfer to the USA and a few days of the missed opportunity for mass at Westminster Abbey for the first anniversary of the death of Prince Philip. This is what emerges from the British media, according to which the dukes, during their stop at Windsor Castle, also met Prince Charles.
A family reunion that had not taken place for some time and above all after the clashes between the Windsors, also with interviews, statements and books.
It is unknown whether the couple brought their two-year-old son Archie and 11-month-old daughter Lilibet, whom the ruler has never met.
Prince Harry, despite the refusal to attend mass for Philip, had promised himself to visit his grandmother “as soon as possible”.
The visit could represent, even in the light of these words, an additional alarm signal on the conditions of the almost 96-year-old sovereign, visited without notice by her nephew at a time when she is forced to multiply the flat rate from every external public appointment: as in the case yesterday’s absence from the traditional service on Holy Thursday or the one scheduled for Sunday with Easter mass.
