The world’s leading media continue to cover events in Ukraine. Publications discuss the destruction of the Moskva cruiser, military assistance to Ukraine and the likelihood of Putin using nuclear weapons.

The site “Today” offers an overview of the Western mass media.

Putin may resort to the use of nuclear weapons

Bloomberg news agency reports that some Russian officials are concerned about the increase in the number of victims of Putin’s war in Ukraine. Some in the elite fear the invasion was a disastrous mistake, but say the Russian president will not back down or face a loss of power.

“These people increasingly share the fear expressed by US intelligence officials that Putin may resort to limited use of nuclear weapons if he is faced with the failure of a war that he “considers his historic mission”writes Bloomberg.

US plans to increase arms production for Ukraine

The American edition of The Wall Street Journal writes that the world’s largest defense company Lockheed Martin Corp. said she was in talks with the Pentagon to increase the production of weapons destined for Ukraine. The US has pledged more than $3 billion in military aid to Ukraine since the Russian invasion in February, including Javelin missiles and drones from existing US stockpiles.

The United States announced the transfer of military aircraft to Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine denied this information

The Reuters international news agency, citing Pentagon data, reports that the Ukrainian military received additional aircraft, as well as spare parts for repairs, so that damaged aircraft could fly again. It is noted that Ukraine lived up to the expectations of allies and military experts, not only maintaining its air force almost two months after the start of the Russian invasion, but actually repairing aircraft and apparently replenishing its fleet.

At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine denied the information about the receipt of aircraft from Western partners, noting that only spare parts for them were transferred to Ukraine.

The Russian military does not have night vision devices

The British magazine The Economist reports that Russian troops do not have night vision devices and therefore miss Ukrainian strikes at night. Unlike Western armies, Russia does not issue night vision equipment to all troops. Only a select few special forces and intelligence units receive such equipment.

The destruction of the cruiser “Moskva” reduced the likelihood of an amphibious attack on Odessa

The British newspaper The Times writes that hundreds of sailors died when at least one Neptune anti-ship missile hit the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the Moskva. Its sinking sharply reduced the likelihood of an amphibious assault on Odessa and dealt a blow to Russian capabilities in the Black Sea. It is also noted that on the day the Russian cruiser suffered catastrophic damage, an American Boeing P8 Poseidon spy plane was within 100 miles of Moscow.

As the Segodnya website reported, on April 13, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched missile attacks on the Russian cruiser Moskva. The enemy ship sank.

We also found out whether Russia would avenge the destruction of “Moscow” and what other weapons Ukraine had prepared for the war against the invaders.

Moskva is a Russian guards missile cruiser, the main ship of Project 1164 Atlant. It is part of the 30th division of surface ships of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy. Built at the shipyard named after 61 Communards in Nikolaev, originally received the name “Glory”. After the decommissioning of the project 1123 anti-submarine cruiser Moskva, he inherited his name and became the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet.
