The Obamas announced in 2019 that they would partner exclusively with Spotify to publish podcasts through their media company Higher Ground, in a $ 25 million deal. ‘Renegades: Born in the Usa’, Barack Obama’s show with musician Bruce Springsteen and The Michelle Obama Podcast have both been hits for Spotify.
However, Bloomberg announced that Higher Ground Spotify will leave when the current agreement ends in October, citing three unnamed sources close to the negotiations, which confirm that Higher Ground is negotiating with potential new partners and that Spotify had refused to make another offer .
