Ukraine, media Kiev: Moscow threatens a chemical attack in Odessa

(ANSA) – ROME, APRIL 24 – Moscow states that Ukraine’s special services are planning a provocative operation with the use of chemicals in the Yuzhny port in Odessa, to blame the Russian armed forces and accuse them of having taken targeting civilians. A statement that Kiev interprets instead as a threat disguised as a warning: the Russian forces would therefore be the ones who want to launch a chemical attack on the Ukrainian port, according to the Kyiv Independent.

“In the vicinity of the Yuzhny port – says the head of the Russian National Defense Control Center Mikhail Mizintsev, quoted by the Tass agency – the Ukrainian special services are planning a provocation with the use of poisonous chemicals to accuse Russian troops of alleged attacks on civilian infrastructure. The most likely scenario of this staging would be the imitation of a missile attack by the Russian Armed Forces on the Western Military Naval Base of Ukraine which would result in the explosion of a cold storage complex in the port, which located within 500 meters of the military target. “

Mizintsev adds that to implement this plan on April 18 from Odessa a tank with ammonia was delivered to the facility in question, while members of the police and special services of the Odessa region were distributed personal protective equipment. (HANDLE).
