At least six dead on migrant boat sinking off Lebanon coast

Number of deaths is indicated as provisional until the next surveys by local authorities

Six people died, including a girl, in the shipwreck which carried about 60 migrants on the coast of Lebanon last Saturday, 23. The information was confirmed by the Lebanese National Information Agency (ANI) this Sunday, 24. In a previous balance sheet, the ANI had registered nine deaths. The Lebanese Navy recovered five bodies of migrants on Sunday after finding the body of a girl on Saturday. The number of victims remains provisional until further surveys. Authorities also announced the rescue of nearly 50 migrants out of the 60 carried on the ship that sank. So far, the nationality of the migrants has not been reported.
