Horror photos make up Putin’s portrait

(ANSA) – ROME, APRIL 24 – The most original and dramatic portrait of Vladimir Putin is by a Belarusian photographer, Pavlo Krychko, who used 1,500 screenshots and snapshots taken during Russia’s 57-day war against Ukraine.

Raw, merciless images that merge to form his features and become the materialization of the barbarism of those who ordered the bombing of civilians. You see the burning buildings, the crosses in the courtyards of Bucha where the dead were buried in a hurry, the escape from the children’s hospital in Mariupol, the corpses abandoned in the street by the Russians.

“The horror, the pain, the suffering, the death, the shattered destinies, the crimes, the inhumanity, the evil are all in this picture”, wrote Krychko on his Facebook profile, illustrating the meaning of his creation. “Looking at all these photos – he added – I still find it hard to understand the people who support Putin”.
