Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Russia had a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. During the conversation of politicians, the topic of Ukraine was discussed. It is reported by Anadolu Agency.

In a conversation with Putin, the Turkish leader said that maintaining the positive momentum achieved at the talks between the delegations of the Russian Federation and Ukraine is in the interests of all parties.

“Turkey will continue to do everything possible to establish a lasting peace in Ukraine”Erdogan noted.

The Turkish President stressed the importance of a ceasefire, the effectiveness of humanitarian corridors and safe evacuation from war zones. Erdogan noted that the processes that carry the threat of damage to the interests of all parties must be stopped.

Erdogan assured of Ankara’s readiness to continue to make a feasible contribution to ensuring long-term peace between the Russian Federation and Ukraine and repeated his proposal to organize a meeting of the presidents of Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul.

Earlier, the site “Today” reported that Ukrainian singer Olya Polyakova appealed to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan with a request to help release the civilian population and the Ukrainian military from Mariupol.
