Fabius added that, in general, the rules of the electoral process were respected.

Of the 48,752,339 registered French voters in the 24 April poll, 35,096,478 turned up during the second round of elections, which is about 72%. The Constitutional Council recorded 2,333,904 blank ballots.

“The Constitutional Council on April 27, 2022, proclaims Emmanuel Macron as President-elect of the Republic,” said Laurent Fabius, indicating that the mandate of the newly elected President will begin at midnight on May 14, 2022.

It is worth adding that Macron won 18,768,639 votes (58.6%) in the second round of elections, and Le Pen 13,288,686 (41.4%).

Problems for Le Pen during the elections
