(ANSA) – LONDON, MAY 05 – The British Parliament has invited Elon Musk to discuss the multi-billion dollar acquisition of Twitter by the eccentric American oligopolist. The initiative was launched by Julian Knight, chairman of the commission of municipalities that deals with digital and media, with the intention of asking questions about future plans for the social network regarding crucial issues such as freedom of expression and the safety of users.
Precisely on this last point, the government of Boris Johnson had issued a warning to Musk on the way in which Twitter will be managed, a communication channel that is also widely used by world leaders, such as the British premier himself.
The parliamentary committee had already tried to summon another social media tycoon, Mark Zuckerberg, in 2018, but the Facebook founder refused. (HANDLE).
