(ANSA) – NEW YORK, MAY 10 – Chef Mario Batali has been found not guilty of sexual abuse and beatings regarding an accident that took place in 2017 in Boston. In delivering the verdict, Boston Municipal Court Judge James Stanton agreed with the allegation that the accuser had credibility problems.
Batali, 61, pleaded not guilty to the woman’s allegations that the chef forcibly kissed and groped her after taking a selfie with her in a Boston restaurant while she was drunk.
Batali’s attorney Antony Fuller said the woman had financial reasons to charge him, as she sought $ 50,000 in damages in a separate civil suit. (HANDLE).
