In Austria, they said that the “green light” for advancing to the European Union should be given simultaneously to Ukraine and the countries of the Western Balkans.
This was stated by the Minister of the Austrian Federal Chancellery for European Affairs Karoline Edtstadler, Ukrinform writes.
“Green light”
“If we want to give Ukraine a green light, then it should also be for Albania and North Macedonia. If Ukraine needs to be given candidate status, then Bosnia and Herzegovina should also be given candidate status,” she said.
At the same time, she supported the rapprochement of Ukraine with the EU, calling it “an important signal.”
Recall that Ukraine in record time prepared the second part of the questionnaire for obtaining the status of a candidate for membership in the European Union. Several volumes of this part were demonstrated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a video call with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
