UK imposed sanctions against the former wife of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, his cousins, as well as his mistress Alina Kabaeva. Relatives of Kabaeva were also included in the sanctions list. In addition, Putin’s assets were listed in official documents.

“Sanctions hit Putin’s financial network today, including his ex-wife and cousins, increasing pressure on the president and his inner circle. Putin’s official assets are modest, and his lifestyle is funded by a cabal of family, friends and the elite,” the statement said. .

The official documents listed Putin’s assets, including:

  • Small apartment in St. Petersburg
  • Two Soviet cars from the 1950s

The sanctions list includes:

  • Alina Kabaeva. It is noted that she has a close personal relationship with Putin, and earlier she was a State Duma deputy from Putin’s “United Russia”.
  • Anna Zatseplina is the grandmother of Alina Kabaeva and an associate of Gennady Timchenko, a long-time ally of Putin, who has been under British sanctions since February 22, 2022, from whom she received an apartment in Moscow.
  • Lyudmila Ocheretnaya – Former first lady of the Russian Federation and ex-wife of Putin. Since her divorce from Putin in 2014, Ocheretnaya has benefited from preferential business relationships with government agencies.
  • Igor Putin – President Putin’s cousin and Russian businessman, director of the Pechenga International Seaport.
