China at G7, ‘enough interference in internal affairs’

(ANSA) – BEIJING, MAY 16 – China calls for an “end to interference in internal affairs” in response to the G7 foreign ministers’ statement on Saturday, which cites tensions over Taiwan, human rights violations in Xinjiang and in Tibet, the squeeze on Hong Kong, the disputes in the East and South China seas and the warning to Beijing not to assist Russia in the invasion of Ukraine. “What I want to point out is that Taiwan, Xinjiang, Tibet and Hong Kong related affairs are purely internal affairs of China and do not tolerate interference from outside forces,” a spokesman for the Chinese embassy in London said.
