(ANSA) – WASHINGTON, MAY 20 – The Biden administration has announced that it will appeal against the sentence of the Louisiana judge who decided that the anti-migrant measure imposed by Donald Trump during the Covid-19 pandemic was irrevocable. The US Department of Justice announces it.
The US administration, a note from White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre reads, “does not agree with the court ruling and the Justice Department has announced that it will appeal against this decision”.
The authority to define public health policies at the national level, the White House emphasizes, “must rest with the Centers for Disease Control, not a single district court”.
