Partygate denies charges over Johnson-Gray ‘secret’ meeting

Downing Street has dismissed allegations of a “secret” meeting between Conservative Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Senior Official Sue Gray, who is due to publish her independent report on the Partygate scandal in full form in the next few days following the closure of the investigation. police and the many fines imposed, including that to the prime minister.
According to Johnson’s spokesman, the “technical request” for a confrontation came from Gray’s office and the meeting was about the “timing and process of publication” of the document. The recent meeting also did not compromise the independent nature of Gray’s investigation, counting on the fact that the official and the prime minister, as is customary, had already met before the interim report was released in January.
This is not the opinion of the leader of the Labor opposition, Keir Starmer, according to whom the Tory government has hit bottom again in the Partygate with the “attempts to undermine” the publication of the report. In recent days, the possibility that embarrassing details will be revealed for the government structure involved in the scandal of the events that occurred in violation of the anti Covid regulations in Downing Street and in other institutional settings, in particular through photographs, has been reiterated.
