(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 26 – “Serious politicians who want to get results and are not engaged in self-promotion in front of their electorate, cannot propose this kind of thing”. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Serghei Lavrov, commenting in Arabic on the Italian peace proposals for Ukraine in an interview with Russia Today. The broadcaster posted a Russian transcript on its website. Lavrov reiterated that Italy did not send the plan to Moscow, but “what appears in the media – he added, referring in particular to the hypotheses of Donbass and Crimea under Ukrainian sovereignty with an autonomous status – causes a feeling of regret”.
