Israel: aerial maneuvers over the Mediterranean, simulated attack on Iran

(ANSAmed) – TEL AVIV, JUN 01 – “Dozens of Israeli Air Force aircraft yesterday conducted a series of maneuvers over the Mediterranean Sea to simulate long-range flights and an attack on distant targets”: the military spokesman announced Israeli. Among other things, in-flight refueling was conducted. These maneuvers, the spokesman added, are part of the ‘Chariots of Fire’ exercise, still ongoing and designed to prepare Israel for simultaneous fighting on multiple fronts, near and far.

Kan public radio noted that Israel is stepping up preparations for an attack on targets in Iran and that yesterday’s exercise (conducted over Cyprus) fits into that context. The broadcaster added that Israel notes with regret that, unlike Israel, the United States does not appear to be preparing a military option against Iran’s nuclear infrastructure at this stage.
