Former Trump adviser accused of outrage to Congress

(ANSA) – WASHINGTON, June 03 – A grand jury indicted Peter Navarro, former adviser to Donald Trump, for outrage to Congress, for refusing to cooperate with the parliamentary commission investigating the assault on Congress on January 6, 2021.

Navarro was summoned to testify by Thursday and was also to provide all documents related to the attack on the Capitol, including “any communication” with the former US president. Trump’s former adviser hoped to persuade a federal judge to block the subpoena. Navarro is being investigated into the tycoon’s and his entourage’s efforts to overturn the last presidential vote. The justice ministry has already indicted Steve Bannon, the former White House strategist during the Trump presidency, for the same offense, but not yet then chief of staff Mark Meadows. (HANDLE).
